For the Cheeky March Madness event, though, sportfish replace college basketball teams in the 64-team bracket, and participants in the tournament vote for weekly fishy matchups. For a $10 donation—which is split between Trout Unlimited and Casting for Recovery—participants earn the right to fill out a bracket and pick which fish they think is the king of all gamefish for 2016. Participants can win more than $5,000 worth of fishing gear, all while 100 percent of the proceeds go to TU and CFR. Simply fill out a bracket, and the follow along through March as voting happens. The most accurate "fish bracketologists" stand the chance to win the prizes, which include a Sage fly rod, a Cheeky reel, a Fishpond bag ... even a free fishing trip. Of course, we at TU hope participants vote for trout in the bracket. Trout may not be the fastest fish, or the stronges fish... but they are, arguably, the fish we all started casting to when we first picked up a fly rod, and the places they swim are pretty special to us. Vote trout! We're the home team, after all. Chris Hunt in TU's national communications director. He works from Idaho Falls, Idaho.
