Fly tying: The perfect dubbing noodle

Adding dubbing to flies—both dries and nymphs—can be a tricky process and, for me at least, lead to bulging bodies and ungainly finished products.

Above, Tim Flagler demonstrates a simple method for crafting the perfect dubbed body for any fly, and, like most of his tips and tricks, it comes from the "Why didn't I think of that?" department. Total face palm, honestly. 

I'm about to tie up a batch of Parachute Adams dries, and this is how I'll tie in the gray dubbing for the flies' bodies.
