Introduction to Fly Fishing at Pocono Environmental Education Center

On Sunday April 26th, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM members from the Brodhead Chapter of Trout Unlimited Presented an Introduction to Fly Fishing Class at the Pocono Environmental Education Center.  More that 20 students were introduced to fly fishing through a viewing of the Way of the Trout, followed by an Entomoloy presentation, and finally an equipment and safety presentation.  During the class Board Member Tom VanZandt and Treasurer/Secretary Eric Baird demonstrated fly tying and saw that every student left with a fly.  After the classroom portion, the class adjourned outside to learn about casting and try there hand at handling a fly rod.  It was a great day with a lot of smiles and new friends made.

Looks like it was a great encore performance to the MCCD's Intro to Fly Fishing class last month ... over 80 in attendance at that one!

Next up ... ForEvergreen Preserve along the banks of a historic stretch of the Brodhead Creek, on June 28th to teach yet another batch of new fly fishermen/fisherwomen!
