Submitted by chris_wood on Sat, 2014-11-01 06:45 National Leadership Council - NLC Stream Ambassadors Conservation The Front Porch Trout Magazine Outdoor Communicators Vote Up Down +6 + image_8.jpg Trout Unlimited's National Leadership Council created a climate change working group among volunteer leaders to help shape TU's approach to a changing climate--a huge step for TU's volunteers who are digesting the science of climate change and shaping TU's policy on this complex and often controversial issue. But, truth be told, the work TU does on the ground every day is done with a changing climate in mind, and simple conservation work can go a long way toward arming our trout water for what many scientists predict to be a much warmer climate in the decades to come. By simply replanting streamside vegetation and giving trout streams shade and cover, we can offset some of the immediate impacts of a warming world, and by reconnecting big rivers to their cooler tributaries, we can make sure that, even during the hottest summers, sources of cool water are available to our trout and salmon This week, TU's Senior Senior Scientist Jack Williams spoke to the folks at the Yankee Fisherman about climate change--take a listen.
