June Meeting Minutes

TU Meeting June 17th 2015 Minutes 7:00 pm Start. Introductions and updates. Aron Larson received the boot for being intstramental in the the impmelmntaion of new signage along the river. Update on Adopt A Stream of Crystal Creek in Cle Elum. Next meeting is on July 15 with a work date is the the 18th. Finance Update. 1400 in the bank. $100 spent on signage. $140 spent on PA. Access: Tuesday night there was a meeting at county commissioner about access point above diversion dam on Yakima. Hearing was for public comment. Has been approved. Concerns about safety, traffic, and possibility of access below in the future. Access deals with several organizations and can be complicated. Need to be careful with using a boat launch or an access areas. Use the right word, is it a boat launch or access point. FS not against new boat launch on Morel RD access. Posters for fly shops about the warm water and etiquette. Mitchell Long Kittitas County Conservation Trust: Restore and Protect Habitat in Yakima River Watershed Habitiat restoration desigtn for upper yakima. Off of exit 82 just off of golf course road exit. Currently getting data for conceptual design on restoration for habitat. Conservation Easment. Spring Chinook spawning area. Questions from engineers about design phase. COme back in a month with designs and show us and let us give imput for this process. Monies: 140,000 for design, 250-400,000 for implementaion and project. Volunteer Opportunity for re-vegitation. Input and follow up for how it works. Snorkeling is fun and energizes you about the river and the fish." Understand the fish in a different way and interact differently. Keep Fishing and Snorkeling apart.
