The Strawberry Project

The High Country Fly Fishers will be planting willows along the upper Strawberry River (between the visitior center and where it crosses Highway 40) on Sep. 5th and 6th.  We have obtained approx. 1200 willow plants for the project.  The willows stabilize the banks, help reduce silt in Strawberry Reservoir, and provide more/beter spawning habitat and spawning return for the cutthroats in Strawberry Reservoir.  Meet at the Strawberry visitor center at 9 am on either or both days.  Come join us to make the Strawberry River and Reservoir a better fishery.
