Earth Day Planting on Rattlesnake Creek

The WestSlope Chapter of Trout Unlimited and TU’s Clark Fork River Project invite you to join us in our efforts to revegetate the area surrounding a newly installed fish screen on Rattlesnake Creek. The fish screen prevents migratory trout from being captured in the Hughes-Fredline irrigation ditch as they move to and from the Clark Fork River.

Revegetation of this area will protect the stream bank, promote native plant growth, add shade to Rattlesnake Creek and protect the fish screen from damage. Please meet at Tom Green Memorial Park at the end of Wylie Street at 9 am on Saturday April 22nd. Please bring appropriate clothing, footwear, and work gloves if possible. Lunch will be provided. And a tour of the irrigation infrastructure and nearby side channel trout spawning habitat will precede the planting activity.

For more information, please also attend the April 12th WSCTU member meeting. Thanks very much.

RSVP to Max Lewis via phone or email at mlewis@tu.org or 207-701-1683.
