Kids Fishing Clinic and Casting Contest

On Sunday May 24rd the Brodhead Chapter Trout Unlimited will be assisting the National Park Service employees and volunteers in "Kids Fishing Clinic and Casting Contest" at Hidden Lake off of Hidden Lake Road in the National Recreation Area.  Children will be divided into 3 age groups and learn about Equipment, Knot Tying, Casting, Angler Ethics, Fishing Safety, and other topics will be covered in 10 to 15 minute "classes" perfect for young children.  Participants are to register with the park service on the day of the event.  For more information on participating in the event please contact Kristin Gibbs of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area at(570)426-2430.  Trout Unlimited members who like to volunteer or would like additional information about volunteering for the event please contact Chapter President Todd Burns at tgburns@rcn.com.  Also note that this is an official "Fish for Free Day" in Pennsylvania so it is a perfect day to introduce an adult (and their children) to fishing.
