Doors open at 6 PM and our speaker will beging talking around 6:15. This month's speaker is Joe Goodspeed. He is currently the rod designer for Diamondback Fly Rods and a signature fly designer for Fulling Mill flies, with previous industry experience as rod designer for Thomas & Fly Rods. He also has managed the fly line production department for Cortland Line Company. Joe's fly fishing interests cover a wide spectrum of what is available to anglers in the VT/NH/MA area without having to get on a plane. He enjoys hiking up small Brook Trout streams with his 10' 1wt near his home in Southern Vermont, to landing Mako sharks on 16wt 1pc bluewater rods off the coast of Maine, numerous purebred Muskies over 4ft on the fly from the less pressured waters of the northeast, False Albacore from shore, and also finding some of the biggest wild trout on public water. Joe will be talking about his big trout nymphing approach. This will cover a general perspective about overall strategy like selecting fishing opportunities based on season, the state of the water table, and the amount of angling pressure, then focus on his unorthodox approach to the water and fishing styles.
