Suction dredge mining is still legal in WA, allowing miners to work in critical habitat in our streams. This event is designed to present information on current regulations and what's allowed, and what's proposed to amend the rules. TU Staff Member Gregg Bafundo will speak, followed by a tour of a local creek that has recent dredge activity. We are meeting in Leavenworth, WA for an hour-long presentation, then a short drive to Blewett Pass to tour a recently-closed creek where suction dredge mining activities have taken place.
