Submitted by jd1983 on Sun, 2016-01-24 14:47 Groups audience Overmountain - 492 Vote Up Down +27 + Went to the Hunter Bridge area from 1:45 pm - 3:20 pm to, hopefully, catch the afternoon BWO hatch that has been occuring. As such, I was geared up specfically for fishing dries. Midges were present on the water the entire time but BWOs really only came out in numbers for about 25 minutes,from ~2:00 - ~2:45. This was slightly different from earlier in the week when the hatch lasted for a couple hours in the same location. Fish were active on the surface during this time and I netted 2 small rainbows in this time period. All fish were caught on sz 18 fan-wing BWO pattern.
