Nothing pretty about this fish - a 10+ pound breeder stocked into a local stream. What makes this fish great, however is the fight I had getting it in on my 7-foot, 4-weight Orvis TLS Power Matrix. Yup, it's a stockie - but a holdover so it almost counts. The embedded marker behind its eye told us it had been in the river for two years when it was caught. Still trying to get my 30-incher on the Farmington!

Out to Elk Creek in search of steelhead, this bruiser brown was a nice treat. Coming up from Lake Erie to spawn, it had great colors and plenty of fight - we were about a 1/2 mile from the river mouth.
