Deep undercuts provide ample ambush habitat. This beautiful cutbow broke the surface for a large yellow bellied hopper, and returned to the bank immediately for a solid five minute battle. Larger fish such as this one depend on the stability of the banks not only for feeding but also for the protection from warmer water during the hot summer months.
