FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Cheeky Fishing joins TU as corporate partner

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Cheeky Fishing, a Massachusetts-based manufacturer of high-performance fishing reels, is Trout Unlimited’s newest corporate partner, thanks to an agreement that gives TU members a significant discount on Cheeky products, and an additional discount to members of TU’s 5 Rivers college program.

Additionally, Cheeky will donate 15 percent of all proceeds from TU member purchases to TU’s general fund.

“Cheeky Fishing is excited to team up with Trout Unlimited as the organization’s newest corporate sponsor,” said Cheeky CEO Ted Upton. “We’re especially excited about the opportunity to spread the conservation message to young adults through the 5 Rivers Program.”

In addition to helping TU with direct funding from sales, Cheeky will also donate a number of reels to be used for fundraising auction packages and other gear for TU fundraisers and events, like the annual 5 Rivers Rally and the TU annual meeting.

“Cheeky is helping us make the value proposition of being a TU member real for anglers. They are a fun and creative brand and a welcome addition to the TU community,” said Joel R. Johnson, TU’s chief marketing officer. “The company’s goals fall into place with TU’s mission to protect and restore our trout and salmon waters all over America, and they’re helping us do that by engaging young anglers and helping us mold the next generation of conservation-minded anglers.”
