Date: Mon, 06/19/2006 6/20/2006 Trout Unlimited Field Staff Recognized for Conservation WritingJune 20, 2006 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Chris Hunt (208) 406-9106 Trout Unlimited Field Staff Recognized for Conservation Writing LAKE CHARLES, La. -- Three Trout Unlimited (TU) field staffers were recognized for their conservation writing at the 79th annual convention of the Outdoor Writers Association of America this week. Dave Stalling, a field coordinator based in Missoula, Mont., collected two second-place awards for his stories “Frozen Solitude,” and “Angling for the Front,” which appeared in Big Sky Magazine in 2005. Tom Reed, TU field coordinator based in Bozeman, Mont., received a first-place award for his story, “The Free and Wild Life,” which ran in Wyoming Wildlife News in November 2005. Reed also received a second-place award for his piece, “How to get Your Elk,” which appeared in Wyoming Wildlife News in September 2005. Riggins, Idaho-based field coordinator Scott Stouder received a second-place award for “River of No More Salmon,” which appeared in IWLA Population in spring 2005.
