Event Veterans Service Program Dinner to be held on March 3 in Washington, D.C. Arlington, Va. - Trout Unlimited (TU) is hosting its first annual Veterans Service Program dinner in Washington, D.C., where it will honor wounded servicemen and women and launch its new Veterans Service Program. The dinner will be held on March 3, at the offices of Arnold&Porter, LLP. It is co-hosted by Admiral Dennis Blair, US Navy (retired) and former Director of National Intelligence; and Gordon England, former Deputy Secretary of Defense and Secretary of the Navy. “Through our new Veterans Service Program, Trout Unlimited will work to increase opportunities for TU members and staff to engage with our veterans program partners, such as Project Healing Waters, helping the men and women who have done so much to serve our country,” said Chris Wood, President and CEO of Trout Unlimited. “Project Healing Waters and other veterans programs have built important program networks to introduce veterans to the art of fly fishing. Our goal is to help our members participate in those networks. We are not here to make a better light-bulb, we just want to help it burn brighter,” Wood said. The program and dinner have been made possible through the generous support of the Telos Corporation. Tickets can be purchased at www.tu.org/dcdinner11. Trout Unlimited is the nation’s largest coldwater conservation organization, with 140,000 members dedicated to conserving, protecting, and restoring North America’s trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds.
