Buy flies, help TU

Most fly fishers know that good habitat for trout and salmon translates into good fishing. At FlyAssortments.com, we know that, too. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Trout Unlimited to help the nation’s oldest and largest coldwater fisheries conservation organization make fishing better for everyone, but especially for our customers.

Our new partnership with TU will focus on three programs that we hope our customers will help support, too. First, because we’re located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, we have an affinity for the steelhead and salmon that migrate from the ocean into our rivers every year. For this reason, we’re supporting TU’s new Wild Steelhead Initiative—if we can bolster populations of wild fish returning to their natal waters to spawn every year, we can ensure the long-term survival of the majestic fish and follow through on our efforts to make sure coming generations of anglers have the opportunity to fish for steelhead.

Second, we’re excited to partner with TU’s Veterans Services Partnerships and help the organization’s volunteer army work with wounded warriors and their families by helping them discover the healing power of the waters. Through fly fishing, TU is helping give these true American heroes some peace and the chance to experience a craft that has been proven to help veterans recover from the traumas of war.

And finally, we’re proud to support TU’s citizen science initiative—TroutBlitz. Through this program, TU hopes to enlist everyday anglers to help identify and catalog populations of wild and native trout and salmon all across America. By offering select assortments of flies as prizes for participation, we hope to encourage anglers to take part in this unique project that will provide important baseline data for TU’s science team.
