Data from NY AaT 2013

On Long Island, brook trout are being followed.

Brookies may not move as much as their salmon cousins, but they still move between places in their home ecosystem.  Long Island TIC students have been working with a researcher from Hofstra to follow the movement of brook trout between Beaver Brook and Beaver Lake.

You can read all about the tagged brook trout from different year-classes, and learn the difference between "movers" and "stayers."

Is there a fish tagging project in your home watershed whose researchers are willing to share their data with you and your chapter youth program?
