ForEvergreen Preserve, a 43 acre stream side property, was acquired as permanently protected Monroe County Open Space by Stroud Township in 2013. The site is being maintained and managed as a publically accessible Nature Preserve by Stroud Township in cooperation of the Brodhead Watershed Association and Pocono Heritage Land Trust. The preserve includes approximately 1/2 mile of recently designated Special Regulations Wild Trout Waters on the historic Brodhead Creek, where fly fishing began in America. The Brodhead Chapter of Trout Unlimited provided an educational booth and members Don Miller, Russ Thrall, Ann Foster, Jim Connor, John Smith, Jeff Heberley, Denis Giffels, Don Baylor, Scott Cesari, Jeff Feick, new TU member Ron Taylor, manned the booth and provided other coordination assistance with the event. Two good friends and Western Pocono TU Board members, Ray Youngblood and Mike Gondell were there for the day and commented on the success of the event. ForEvergreen Preserve is located at the site of the former Penn Hills Golf Course, on Cherry Lane Road in Analomink, PA (just 1/2 mile off route 447).
