Happy Birthday, Browns Canyon NM

One year ago, President Obama--responding to decades-long efforts by local communities and sportsmen to preserve Colorado's Browns Canyon--designated a Browns Canyon National Monument, giving permanent protection to this amazing place and its natural resources, which include a stretch of the Gold Medal trout waters of the Arkansas River.

It's good to know that this special landscape will be preserved in its present state for future generations of anglers, hikers, hunters, rafters, campers, and families. And it's gratifying that Trout Unlimited and its partners played a major role in getting this new national monument across the finish line.
