In all, we now believe that half of TU’s chapters are doing something to support veterans in your community, meaning 200 TU chapters belong to the TU Veterans Services Partnership. Thank you! The TU Veterans Services Partnership was created to be a resource at the national level to help foster and support this important work in chapters and communities across the country. To that end, we have a number of great resources and benefits for your chapter, including: An updated program guide to help you run effective veterans services events with the aim of integrating veterans into your local TU community; The ability for your chapter to add a Veterans Services Partnership Coordinator role to the Leaders Only Tools section of tu.org so this volunteer can access the database, membership changes report, and bulk e-mail tool in order to engage membership with VSP events and activities; An updated TU Veterans Services Partnership logo that you can use on your newsletter, website, hats or shirt; and An opportunity to send veteran couples participating with your chapter fishing for a week on the famed Slough Creek in the northeast corner of Yellowstone National Park from June 25 – July 2. As we look into the future, TU believes we are uniquely positioned to do more to build on our unique brand of “conservation, community and fishing” to engage and support to our nation’s veterans in hundreds more communities across the country. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our VSP staff to talk about your unique situation so that we might help support you with resources catered to your specific needs.
