The Kenai Peninsula Chapter of Trout Unlimited or KPTU received Embrace-A-Stream funding which went to facilitate river protection education on the river as well as assist with chapter member development.  Part of that development went toward the chapter holding its first Fishapalooza weekend (pictured above), which offered a weekend of fishing and conservation for KPTU and nearby Anchorage TU members, and coincided with the annual river clean-up sponsored by Alaska Fly Fishers.

The chapter also assisted with funds to replace a culvert on Beaver Loop Road, ran a fishing seminar at the Kenaitze kids summer fish camp, and sponsored an “introduction to Fly Fishing Class”, at the Sterling Recreation Center. Plans for the winter include holding a TU Social, future fly fishing clinics and continuing the popular “Bar Flies” program, where members conduct family-friendly fly tying classes at a local nightspot.
