We are on the cusp of daylight savings on March 10th, Spring on March 19th and best of all, on the cusp of early spring fishing! The streams in the mountains will start to fill up with the spring rains, the temps will rise, and the fish will start to gorge on the insects. Don’t miss your chance for some great fishing before the summer crowds arrive. That being said, our last meeting with David Knapp of Troutzone Anglers focused on tying flies for this time of year. He gave a demonstration of tying and information on maximizing your skills and techniques for Spring. Thanks to David for a great evening. Coming up, our next chapter meeting will be on March 28th, 2024 at Dead End BBQ, with special guest, Matt Kulp of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Matt is the Supervisory Fishery Biologist for the Park and will be giving us updates on current projects and long-term strategic planning for the Park in the future. Make sure you get there early as Matt always draws a crowd, social hour and dinner start at 6PM and the meeting will be at 7PM. Dead End BBQ is located at 3621 Sutherland Ave, Knoxville TN. Remember to follow us on the GSM TU Facebook page and the chapter website. Our Facebook page is the best way to see the latest chapter and updates. As always, we remind you that Trout Unlimited membership is never required for a GSM TU event or meetings. All are welcome! GSM FACEBOOK: http://m.facebook. com/GreatSmokyMountainTU/ President
