He showed up on the set of Kimmel's show recently with the hat to prove it, and the two had a brief exchange about fly fishing before talking about Kutcher's passion for start-up technology and his role as Steve Jobs, the creator of Apple Computer. Kutcher is making lots of headlines these days--during the Teen Choice Awards, he was lauded for a speech he gave to America's young people in which he now famously says, "I believe that opportunity looks a lot like hard work." That's great advice for young people, and something we take to heart at TU, as well. In just 55 years, we've gone from a little fishing club formed to protect the Au Sable River in Michigan to perhaps the most successful on-the-ground conservation organization in America. As Kutcher says, opportunity looks a lot like hard work, and our staff and volunteers can attest to the challenges that come with protecting, reconnecting and restoring our trout and salmon waters. Here's to Kutcher and Kimmel and their shared passion for fly fishing. It's the hook that opens up great opportunities--through Trout Unlimited--to make the world a better, fishier place.
