From a UCCTU perspective we can all be proud of what was accomplished this past year. We ended our Fundraising season with another successful Autumn on the River and then had a great event at Sweetwater that was put on by our friends from Bar Fly in Safety Harbor, Florida. All six of our local shops; Alpharetta Outfitters, Cohutta Fishing Co., The Fish Hawk, both Orvis’s and Unicoi Outfitters, Simms and Sweetwater took part in an amazing event and I enjoyed meeting so many TU people I hadn’t met before. Additionally, the #cleanmywater grand prize winners were announced and fish are hatching at 12 local schools as part of the Trout in the Classroom project. I can go on and on, we really have had a great past couple of months to cap off a great 2018. As we have entered our quiet season as a chapter know that the board of directors and I are hard at work looking at how we can build on our past successes while at the same time generate new ideas that benefit our environment and increase participation across our 900+ members. If you get a few free moments and want to send me a line or two about an idea you’ve had, I’d love to hear it. I’m easily reached at mailto:president@ucctu.org. Have a great and safe holiday! I look forward to seeing you soon.
