Trout Tank Insulation

Trout tanks are unique.  They are extra cold, and the fish within them require that cold, cold water.  So we use a chiller to keep the water down around 50 degrees or lower--much colder than any other fish tank out there.

Because of this, it is absolutely essential that all TIC tanks are insulated.  There are a number of ways to insulate your classroom trout tank, and you can pick a method that still allows your students to see your trout on a daily basis.

Insulation protects those trout from wild temperature swings in the water, and it greatly reduces the wear and tear on your chiller.
