Trout Tips: Does fly line color matter?

TROUT Magazine Editor Kirk Deeter explains his perspective on fly lines and if the color of fly lines matter. The basic idea? Spooky fish are best approached with muted-color fly lines, but sometimes it's just as important for the angler to see the line as it is to keep the line out of fish's line of vision. For instance, Deeter notes, kids are going to be better served if they can see their fly line while they're casting. "We'll worry about the stealth thing later," he explains.
