A group for those of us who have a passion for catching native species (and subspecies) in their native watersheds. There are lots of types of trout anglers, but the angler who spends $3000 on a trip to go catch 4" long trout just to add to their "life list" are a unique bunch. We will drive over famous rivers and barely take notice. We drive past perfectly productive fisheries because "we've been there before" and the goal is "be somewhere we ain't been before". We are en route to a trailhead where we will backpack 10 miles into the wilderness to those dotted bluelines and glacial ditches where some tiny little trout whose mouths barely fit over a #16 caddis pattern. Those little trout that fill us with exuberance and excitement to protect these fragile fragmented resources and bust our humps to restore and reconnect them.
