A native Oklahoman, he has fished across the continental US and in South and Central America. Steve has been a Wisconsin-licensed flyfishing guide for trout and smallmouth bass in southern Wisconsin streams since 2003 and developed 1Guide Flyfishing in 2019. He guides for smallmouth, pike, andmusky by Florida-style flats boat in area lakes and for seasonal steelhead, brown trout,king salmon, and coho salmon by wading the Lake Michigan tributaries. Steve ties customflies and build custom fly rods. He frequently travels to the southern Yucatan in Mexicoeach year to fish for bonefish, tarpon, permit, and snook. He is a passionate conservationistand maintains affiliations with Harry & Laura Nohr Chapter of Trout Unlimited, theWisconsin Smallmouth Alliance, and the Dubuque Fly Fishers.
