Monthly RVTU Fly Tiers Roundtable

Gerry DuMont will be our guest tier and we will be moving our fly tying roundtable to a new location. They will now be held at the Knights of Columbus in Hackettstown.  The address is 142 Liberty St Hackettstown, NJ 07840.

Gerry will be demonstarting the following patterns:

David Lambroughten's flashback Caddis:

Hook : Scud /caddis like Dai-Riki 135 size 14;

7 /64" bead any color will work,

Tail ; partridge or henback;

Rib: Gold wire Brassie size;

carapace : Gold Tinsel Medium;

Legs : Partridge or henback, collar;

dark Fur dubbing

Eric Stroups "Jay- Bug"

Hook ; 1x long nymph like Dai-Riki #60 size 14 or 16 Tail;

Pheasantail, Abdomen;

Olive fur dubbing, Rib; Small Copper wire,

Wingcase; P.T., Thorax Dk Olive CDC.

Learn not only how to tie the featured fly(s) or your favorite fly, but get advice on what to use in the upcoming season from experienced members. Having trouble with tying a flyor never tied before? Bring your vise and materials to our Tier’s Round Table, learn a new fly and/or get help from other members on other patterns. If you don’t have a vise and tools, no problem we will have vises and tools available to try your hand. 
 

Note: Please remember to bring a light for your vise, lighting conditions in the building might not be as bright as you may like.
 

Coffee and snacks will be available as well. If you have a favorite drink you prefer you are welcome to bring it too.
