Submitted by hwalrath on Mon, 2015-10-19 10:46 Groups audience Seedskadee - 533 Vote Up Down +1 + Saturday, October 24th, 2015 - 9:30am to Saturday, October 24th, 2015 - 2:00pm On October 24, 2015,the Seedskadee Chapter of Trout Unlimited (STU) in conjunction with the Wyoming Game and Fish (WGF) and the Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge (SNWR) will conduct electroshocking on the Hamp I and PAL ditches at Seedskadee. We will meet at the refuge headquarters at 9:30 a.m. and we hope to be finished by 2:00 pm. The purpose for this project is to evaluate the need for installing an additional fish screen or screens on the Hamp I and PAL ditches. The project will consist of two teams with each team shocking one ditch. Each team will consist of two electroshockers, two netters, volunteers carrying buckets to the fish holding tanks, and volunteers documenting the size and species of each fish collected. The collected fish will be placed in the holding tank which will then be dumped into the river. All chapter members and their friends and family are invited to help with this project. Volunteers are asked to bring a non-leaking pair of waders. The chapter will provide drinks, Pat Newell will make Dutch oven ribs, I will make a side and/or a dessert. Please bring a side to go with ribs if you have a favorite dish. The WGF will supply the electroshocking equipment, nets and rubber gloves.
