The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Pulaski High School auditorium, 4624 Salina St., Pulaski. "The Salmon River provides world-class angling opportunities that generate substantial recreational and economic benefits to the surrounding communities," Commissioner Seggos said. "This first-ever State of the Salmon River meeting will provide an excellent opportunity for everyone interested in the river to interact with the professionals that study and manage the fishery and learn about the progress we've made to improve this fishery." The Salmon River Fisheries Management Plan, developed in 2018 in close consultation with a variety of stakeholders, focuses on objectives and management strategies to maintain and improve the lake-run salmonid fisheries of the 17 miles of the main stem Salmon River and its major tributaries below the Lighthouse Hill Reservoir. At the meeting, DEC will provide an overview of ongoing activities and report on recent progress toward achieving the objectives outlined in the plan. In addition, staff will review planned activities for the coming year. The meeting will provide ample time at the end of the scheduled program for the audience to ask questions and interact with the presenters.
