STORMWATER SPOTLIGHT: GREATER BOSTON

Stormwater is the largest source of water pollution in New England, as it picks up pollutants and ends up in our rivers, streams, and ponds. But experts at Charles River-, Mystic River- and Neponset River Watershed Associations are driving a host of initiatives that are resulting in higher water quality for our rivers, and ultimately Boston Harbor and Massachusetts Bay.

Come learn what three watershed associations are doing to help reduce stormwater pollution around greater Boston. Patrick Hogan, Jenny Moonan, and Andy Hrycyna from NepRWA, CRWA, and MyRWA, respectively, will talk about the innovative stormwater initiatives these organizations are undertaking in our watersheds.

These three experts will explain how they are working with municipalities, schools, and homeowners … and lawmakers to reduce stormwater pollution.

Special Guests:

Jennie Moonan (CRWA) is the Stormwater Program Director at CRWA, with a background in engineering, permitting, design, and construction for climate resiliency.

Patrick Hogan is the Water Resource Professional at NepRWA, where he provides technical assistance on water issues to municipalities and businesses throughout the region.

Andy Hryczyna is MyRWA’s Water Scientist, where he leads MyRWA's science-based water quality monitoring program and ecological restoration efforts across the watershed.

These stormwater experts will present high-level, high-impact accounts of their initiatives in our watersheds, and what you can do as voters, homeowners, and concerned citizens.
