June 5th on Hickory Run

Yesterday I went out and fished the Hickory Run in Hickory Run State Park.  The water was low and clear so stealth and longer casts were a priority, but as you can see from the pictures, it was worth the work.  All of the fish were caught on a size 12 parachute hopper (a couple of very large trees were also caught, but that is a different story).  I observed size 12 and 14 tan caddis, and size 14 yellow sallies on the water.  I also saw evidence of slate drake activity in the spider webs along the creek.  All in all it was a nice day for walk and a great day to be out fishing.
