Instructions 

Cal Mohney takes the classic Sakasa-Kebari tenkara fly and gives it a distinctly western flavor.

How do I tie it? Any good patterns for carp?

I haven't done a lot of carp fishing, but when I lived in MI we weren't far from a pair of ponds that were loaded with carp. When the local bagel shop would close the employees would go to the upper pond to feed the left over bagels to the ducks. Any bits of bagel that drifted through the culvert to the lower pond would get pounced on by one of the big, waiting carp.

We tied messes of deer hair on big hooks and would sit on the bench waiting for the bagel hatch.

Chris,

try using crayfish patterns that are heavily weighted. Carp are bottom feeders so you have to think like a carp to catch one
