"Protecting Special Places" presentation

Paula Piatt, TU's eastern sportsmen organizer, will be hosting two presentations at the Lancaster Fly Fishing Show, March 1 and 2 at the Lancaster Convention Center.

The presentation, "Protecting Special Places in the Eastern Shale Gas Region," will be shown on Saturday, March 1 at 2 p.m. and then again on Sunday, March 2 at 1 p.m.

"Protecting Special Places" focuses on the potential impacts of shale gas drilling and its associated construction activities on fish and wildlife habitats, and the sportsman's experience, as well as ways sportsmen can protect the habitat.

Topics include, the Marcellus and Utica shale plays and the technology behind hydraulic fracturing; information on the Delaware River Basin and the Commission that oversees the basin; information for landowners thinking of leasing for shale gas drilling; and information for landowners who have already leased their property.

Piatt will also host a booth at the Lancaster Fly Fishing Show that weekend. For more information about the show, visit www.flyfishingshow.com/Lancaster.html
