Submitted by Sean_MDTU on Fri, 2017-05-05 07:07 Maryland - 167 Vote Up Down +2 + Sulphur.jpg Spring is here, bringing the promise of "sulphur" mayflies (and other aquatic bugs) hatching prolifically on our favorite local trout streams! Some of the best spring insect activity (and fishing) often occurs in the evenings, just before dark. On Wednesday, 5/17, MDTU is hosting a casual outing on the Gunpowder to "match the hatch". Sign up below to join us! Space is limited, so RSVP soon to reserve your space. All ages, genders, and experience levels are more than welcome. For beginning anglers, we'll have some flies and basic guidance to share. Seasoned pros, bring your expertise and lucky fly patterns! We'll meet at the parking area where Masemore Road crosses the Gunpowder at 5:30pm, fish until dusk, and then gather back at our vehicles to compare notes and tell fish stories. Bring your own waders, fishing gear, and Maryland fishing license. (If you don't have gear and would like to participate, contact us and we can make arrangements.) NOTE: MDTU's Spring Family Picnic is Saturday, May 20, at 10:30am at Meadowood Park. This event takes the place of our regular chapter meeting, so there will NOT be a May 17 meeting in Towson. See you on the stream and at the picnic instead! Register Now!
