Weber Basin Anglers Rubbish Round-Up

The Weber Basin Anglers Chapter of Trout Unlimited conducted a river cleanup dubbed the Rubbish Round-Up on May 3rd 2014.   Volunteers gathered near Mountain Green, Utah and broke into groups.   Folks cleaned up trash and debris from the Walk-In-Access areas along the river up through the town of Morgan, Utah.

They collected over 15 bags of trash, a bike, and old bed mattress along with numerous other items of debris.

The local newspaper in Morgan, Utah highlighted this event in a newspaper article.   The city has begun a plan to revitalize the river where it flows through town.  See the article here:

Other clean-up projects are being planned for later this year.   The Weber river is second most used waterway in the State of Utah.   The famous Green River being the first.   Weber Basin Anglers Chapter is working hard to promote the Weber River and help everyone understand how important it is for recreation in the State of Utah.   The Chapter is also focused on helping the native Bonneville Cutthroat Trout population grow and expand along the drainage.   These river clean-ups are ways to include everyone in helping the watershed and raising awareness of how heavily used the river really is.
