Mouth of Montreal blown out today

The Mouth of the Montreal is over the banks today.  Due to the warming trend and the last of the snow melting.  The river is about 2 feet higher than Wed. April Meeting April 13

The April meeting of Wild Rivers Chaper will start with dinner at 6pm and the meeting to follow approximately at 7 pm.  The venue is  Burgers Bar & Grill in Gile, Wisconsin.  Our main speaker is Heather Palmquist, who is currently Iron County's Land Conservation Administrator.

Montreal River Mouth

Mouth of the Montreal River levels are great for fishing. I walked down the hill today to check out the water levels. I found this interesting rock formation along the lake bank. Checking with one fisherman he said his buddies landed 2 browns and one coaster brookie last week.

Pre Wild Rivers Spring Expo Tying Event March 19

Montreal River Mouth Still Frozen

Today was a balmy 52 degrees and I threw my switch rod into the pickup and drove from Hurley to Saxon.  I had waders, snowshoes and muck boots because I wasn't sure what I would find.  Well as you can see the pools are still frozen and the trail down to the river mouth is dangerously icy.  Keep...
