Address: 142 Pleasant St #103a, Easthampton, MA 01027 On Wednesday October 12th at 7:00pm the Pioneer Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited will be holding a special meeting open to the public that will offer two wonderful opportunities: the opportunity to see a very informative presentation by Carrie Banks from Massachusetts Department of Fish and Game, Division of Ecological Restoration, as well as a chance to win a Brand new Temple Forks Outfitters (TFO) 10’6” 3 wt fly rod. We will also be raffling off an Orvis Hydros Floating Fly Line in 5 weight. meeting will be held at the Abandoned Building Brewery, located at 142 Pleasant Street, #103a, Easthampton, MA, 01027. What a great opportunity to enjoy the company of fellow anglers and conservationists in a casual atmosphere, win a premium fly rod (all raffle tickets will be sold that evening with winners announced at the end of the presentation!), while learning about DER’s work here in western Massachusetts. The featured speaker will be Carrie Banks from Massachusetts Department of Fish and Game, Division of Ecological Restoration. Carrie’s talk will highlight a number of recently completed and ongoing culvert removals in western Massachusetts intended to restore river connectivity for Brook Trout and other species. She will also give an update on the Lyman Dam removal project, which is pretty much finished, and briefly highlight some of DER’s other work in the region which may benefit coldwater species such as brook trout. Parking for the meeting is behind the long row of factories on Pleasant Street. Access the parking lot via the American Legion Post 224 entrance on Pleasant Street. Drive past the American Legion parking area, turn right, and go to the middle of the factory row. You will see the Abandoned Building Brewery entrance. Do not confuse the Abandoned Building Brewery with the New City Brewery, which will be first along the back row of factories. If you see New City Brewery, keep driving until the next brewery entrance, Abandoned Building Brewery, and park there. You do not need to be a Trout Unlimited member to attend this presentation or win the raffle. So, mark it in your calendar - and bring a friend! Who's attending this event?
