Address: 142 Pleasant St #103a, Easthampton, MA 01027 On February 8th the Pioneer Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited is excited to host Jerry Schoen, formerly from the UMass Water Research Center, who will present a program “Chasing a dream in a changing world; 10 days on a remote Alaska river.” Jerry Schoen will talk about a summer 2022 DIY float trip down the Arolik River in western Alaska, with background discussion of climate change, fishing pressure, and managing expectations for a “trip of a lifetime.” As further enticement, we'll be raffling off a chance to win some nifty items, including a 9ft 4-piece 4wt Echo Carbon fly rod and other great prizes at this meeting. Our meetings start at 7:00 (but a lot of us show up early to chat and have a fine brew beforehand). If you like finely crafted cold beer and want to learn more about what's happening with our cold-water fisheries, you'll want to attend this meeting. You do not need to be a Trout Unlimited member to attend this presentation or win the raffle. Parking for the meeting is behind the long row of factories on Pleasant Street. Access the parking lot via the American Legion Post 224 entrance on Pleasant Street. Drive past the American Legion parking area, turn right, and go to the middle of the factory row.
