Considered by many to be the hidden gem of the Blue Ridge Mountains, West Virginia is home to one of the most robust, intact populations of native brook trout in the East. TU volunteers, staff and many partners have been hard at work in the Mountaineer State for more than four decades working to protect, reconnect, and restore these watersheds.

As we begin to think about the future of wild and native trout, West Virginia is often thought of as ground zero–where the demand for energy and natural resources meets the pristine vistas and valleys of our public land and the robust recreation economies they support. Please join us for the 2018 Southeast Regional Rendezvous on May 19-20 at the Canaan Valley Resort and Conference Center in Davis, West Virginia as we explore topics like this and many more.

We will begin our event as is tradition with the annual Friday fishing day hosted by our West Virginia Council volunteers. This will give you a great opportunity to get up close and personal with West Virginia's most outstanding resource. On Saturday, we will have a packed agenda featuring guests from our grassroots leaders, West Virginia DNR, United States Forest Service, Trout Unlimited national staff, and more! On Sunday, we're trying something new this year. Please join the Home Rivers Initiative in West Virginia as well as the West Virginia Council on a conservation tour of active and complete restoration projects and enjoy a crash course in hands-on Brook Trout conservation.
