This river is definitely a place for a expert fisherman. This river is full of trout, these fish are very well educated. These fish can be taking sulfurs then the next minute completely ignore them. This river is not for the weak at heart!

Watauga River is a slow moving river full of massive trout. Your best bet to catching fish in this river is terrestrial or streamers. Also you should float the river, because there are limited access for waders.
